Dark Horse Reserve Special Black Bier Ale
I ordered a glass of Dark Horse Reserve Special Black Bier Ale from Al’s of Hampden. The beer pours a black color with a thin filmy tan head. The aroma is faint but contains chocolate and toasted malts. The taste is big on dry chocolate and toasted malts with hints of coffee mixed in to the beer. The Black Bier Ale also has a dry finish that is quite pleasant. The alcohol content is 7.5% ABV. I thought this beer had a great flavor without being too complex; it just simply balanced the chocolate, coffee, and toasted malts perfectly.
