Ska Brewing Autumnal Mole Stout

The manager at Alehouse at Amato's had three extra cans of Ska Brewing Autumnal Mole Stout left from a beer pairing dinner, so he brought the cans over to our table. The beer pours a black color with a thin filmy tan head. The aroma consists of spicy pepper, chocolate, toasted malts, and cinnamon. The taste is bold with chocolate and a light spicy chili pepper flavor. This chili flavor is not overdone but nicely balanced and is also accompanied by a cinnamon and caramel finish. The alcohol content is 5.5% ABV. Overall, this was a nice chili pepper stout with good balance and a nice flavor profile.

Ska Brewing ForniSKAtor

For the second year in a row, I attended the Beer for Boobs Brunch at Freshcraft in Denver during the Great American Beer Festival. This year, the owner teamed up with Ska Brewing to provided a beer for the event called ForniSKAtor, a maple syrup infused doppelbock. The beer pours a ruby-brown color with a thin off-white colored head. The aroma is big on maple syrup, smoked malts, and caramel. The taste is smoky and malty with a wonderful maple syrup flavor. The beer had a thick, syrupy, and bold mouth feel. Bacon and caramel flavors were also present before a warming alcohol finish wakes you up. The alcohol content is not available online, but I would estimate it to be about 9.0% ABV. The intent of the beer was to pair with maple syrup chicken and waffles, and Ska Brewing nailed it. The  beer went extremely well with the food, and the smokiness in the beer was the best part of the experience.

Ska Brewing True Blonde Dubbel

While attending the Beer for Boobs Brunch at Fresh Craft in Denver, I ordered a bottle of Ska Brewing Two Blonde Dubbel. The beers were donated to the even, promoting breast cancer research, and sold for $3, with all proceeds going to charity. The beer pours a golden color with a thin bubbly white head. The aroma is sweet and malty with banana and Belgian yeast. The taste is smooth and sweet, and big on banana and yeast. There is a spicy after taste with a finish that is lightly drying. The alcohol content is 8.0% ABV. I thought that the Two Blonde Dubbel was delicious and a great way to start the day. The big banana flavor will make you think it was made for breakfast, considering I popped open the bottle at 11:00 AM.
