Arcadia Ales Imperial Stout

I ordered a glass of Arcadia Ales Imperial Stout while at Al’s of Hampden. The beer pours a black color with a bubbly tan head. The aroma consists of chocolate, milk, toasted malts, and caramel. The taste has dark chocolate, coffee, caramel, and vanilla with hints of toasted malts on the finish. The remaining mouth feel has a light dryness and a faint cherry taste. The alcohol content is 9.0% ABV. This was a solid imperial stout with all of the right flavors that were balanced pretty well.

Arcadia Ales Jaw-Jacker

I picked up a bottle of Arcadia Ales Jaw-Jacker from Bocktown in Pittsburgh. The beer pours an orange-amber color with an extremely lofty and frothy off-white head. The aroma consists of cinnamon, pumpkin, allspice, and nutmeg. The taste is smooth and sweet at first with a large pumpkin flavor before drying out with cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice. The alcohol content is 6.0% ABV. I really enjoyed the smoothness of this pumpkin beer that has a wonderful spiced balance.

Arcadia Ales Hopmouth Double IPA

I picked up a bottle of Arcadia Ales Hopmouth Double IPA from Pinocchio's in Media, PA. The beer pours a dark amber color, which was much darker than I expected, with a foamy tan head. The aroma consists of sweet caramel and toffee with fresh accents of pine and grass and a light touch of butterscotch. The taste is sweet and smooth with toasted caramel and toffee. I must say that I expected the hops to hit a little harder, but what is there is pine and lightly lemony. The finish on the beer returns the flavor of the toasted caramel, which is a very welcome return. The alcohol content is 8.1% ABV. This was a very smooth and sweet drinking beer, but misses out somewhat with balancing hop bitterness. I did enjoy drinking it, but felt that the lack of hops made me feel like I was let down somewhat by this beer.
