Lavery Brewing Imperial Red Ale

I was given a bottle of Lavery Brewing Imperial Red Ale in a trade with Aleheads. The beer pours a cloudy red-amber color with a frothy white head that leaves some lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of fresh hop, pine, grass, and lemon. The taste has a caramel profile before a bitter, lemon, pine, and grass hop finish. Toasted malts linger in the background on the finish. The alcohol content is 7.2% ABV. I’d say this was a rather delicious red ale with plenty of bitter flavors to keep any hop head happy.

Spring House Atomic Raygun Imperial Red

While in Lancaster, I picked up a growler of Spring House Atomic Raygun Imperial Red from the Tap Room. The beer pours a dark amber color with a frothy tan head. The aroma consists of caramel and sweet malts with a pine hop accent. The taste is smooth and sweet with lots of caramel, pine, lemon, and oak accents. The finish is dry with hops and quite delicious. The alcohol content is 8.3% ABV. This was a well crafted red beer with a generous helping of caramel, but accented nicely with pine and lemon.

Rogue Imperial Red Ale

The final beer I have to review from my Fourth of July drinking festivities is the Rogue Imperial Red Ale. The beer pour a dark brown with a hint of red. The aroma is filled with hops and is very floral. The taste was sweet at first, but had a very hoppy after taste. The alcohol content is 9.0% ABV. Overall, I wasn't too into this beer due to the amount of hops included, but it was a drinkable beer that was slightly enjoyable. I recommend starting the day with this beer rather than trying to drink it later in the day after a few other beers.
