Brouwerij Consendonk Abbey Pale Ale

I ordered a bottle of Brouwerij Corsendonk Abbey Pale Ale at the Abbey Bar in Harrisburg on $2 off Belgians night. The beer pours a golden color with a thin filmy white head. The aroma consists of banana, yeast, coriander, pepper, and lemon. The taste is yeasty and biscuity with lots of banana flavoring. Coriander and pepper provide spicy accents to the banana, and there is a drying hay and grass finish. The alcohol content is 7.5% ABV. The flavoring in this beer was spot on and I enjoyed the Belgian yeast and banana flavors the most. There was enough spicing and dryness to balance the sweetness of the yeast, making an all-around enjoyable beer.

Corsendonk Christmas Ale

I ordered a glass of Brouwerij Corsendonk Christmas Ale at Fat Head's in Pittsburgh. The beer has a dark amber color with a creamy head. The smell is sweet and spicy. The taste is full cinnamon with nice spice accents and surprisingly it has an orange finish. There are light nutmeg accent underneath of it all. The alcohol content is 8.5% ABV. This definitely ranks up there with the better Christmas beers that I have had. None of the flavors or elements were overdone or overpowering, and each complimented the other nicely. I highly recommend you try this one before it is gone for the season.

Corsendonk Abbey Brown Ale

It was a lovely spring day, so I decided to crack open the bottle of Corsendonk Abbey Brown Ale I had in my refrigerator. The pour was very frothy, almost marshmallow-like. It has a beautiful dark amber/brown color to it. The taste is very smooth, as you would expect after seeing the head on the beer. There is a slight hint of bananas in the beer, which rounds out the flavor nicely. The alcohol runs at 7.5% ABV, so a 750mL bottle will do a nice job of relaxing you on a warm spring day. I first tried this beer on draught at a bar, but I think I like drinking it from the bottle better. Usually I feel the opposite way, but this beer does well aged in the bottle.
