Lost Coast 20th Anniversary Ale

While out at dinner with my sister and grandfather, I ordered a glass of Lost Coast 20th Anniversary Ale to share with my sister. The beer pours an amber color with a thin foamy off-white colored head. The aroma consists of fig, raisin, candisugar, yeast, pepper, and a hint of orange. The taste is sweet and malty, lots of raisin and fig, and some candisugar adds to sweetness. There is some orange and citrusy finish with a pepper after taste. The alcohol content is 8.0% ABV. This was quite a nice and smooth beer. Overall, it was a solid strong ale with nice citrus accents on the finish.

Lost Coast Indica India Pale Ale

At McGrath’s in downtown Harrisburg, I ordered a glass of Lost Coast Indica India Pale Ale. The beer pours a copper color with a frothy white head. The aroma is big on lemon and grapefruit with some pine mixed in there as well. Hints of tangerine and caramel also come out at the end of the smell. The taste is bitter and lemony with a pine hop accent. The Indica is built on a good caramel base and has a wonderful finish consisting of tangerine and grapefruit without the sugar. The alcohol content is 6.5% ABV. Indica India Pale Ale is an excellent hoppy beer and provides plenty of citrus refreshment on the tongue, all with a slight bitterness that doesn’t overly dry the tongue.

Lost Coast Tangerine

My coworker Jack picked me up a bottle of Lost Coast Tangerine, a tangerine wheat beer, to try. The beer pours a translucent golden color with orange hues and a lofty foamy white head. The aroma is big on tangerine, very similar to the freshly peeled fruit. Only a faint hint of wheat is detectable behind the tangerine aroma, as it is very powerful. The taste is sweet and refreshing with lots of tangerine, some wheat, and lemon. The finish is a little sour and the after taste is bitter and is like sour fruit. The alcohol content is 5.0% ABV. The Tangerine was a refreshing and light beer with a crisp citrus profile. The finish wasn't completely satisfying for a wheat beer being a little sour and bitter, but overall the beer was enjoyable.
