New Belgium Lips of Faith Super Cru

I ordered a bottle of New Belgium Lips of Faith Super Cru from France 44, the supercharged version of Fat Tire. The beer pours an amber color with a frothy off-white colored head. The aroma consists of sweet pears and malts with a slight cherry accent. The taste is extremely sweet with plenty of malts and lots of pear juice as well. There is a faint hint of peppery hops and an alcohol warmth on the finish. The after taste leaves some caramel and burnt malts. The alcohol content is 10.0% ABV. I would say that I enjoyed drinking this beer, but I was glad I shared it with another person, as it was rather on the sweet side. An entire 22-ounce bottle would be difficult to finish.

Guest Review: New Belgium Fat Tire

Guest Review by: Janine Turner

My boyfriend's sister acquired a case of New Belgium Fat Tire Amber Ale from NC. I had this before as an Xmas present (which I enjoyed drinking while lounging in my new Snuggie), but never thought of reviewing it since its something I don't typically do. So when we were graced with a case (that rhymed), I decide to give it a try. This beer pours a light copper color with a thin white frosty head. It smells of caramel and a hint of citrus. The front is bubbly and citrus-sweet on the tongue. The beer finishes strong with caramel taste, and the after taste is tangy and bitter with hint of sweetness from the caramel. Amber ales, in general, are my favorite style of beer and this one is definitely one of my favorites.

New Belgium Fat Tire

When I was in Las Vegas, I had this New Belgium Fat Tire. I learned that North Carolina had been added to their distribution area, and the Outer Banks was my vacation destination. Destiny? Maybe. The beer pours a deep amber color with minimal head. It has a sweet and slightly hoppy aroma. The taste is slightly spicy with a little bit of sweetness. The after taste is a little spicy and hoppy as well, but it is the perfect balance. The alcohol content is 5.2% ABV. This has become one of my favorite beers. All-in-all, it embodies what a beer should be, utilizing hops and malts to create a perfect brew.
