As part of the Michael Jackson Rare Beer Club, I received a bottle of Bires Bourganel [no website] Biere Au Nougat and decided to share it with some friends. The beer pours a golden color with a frothy white head. The aroma consists of hazelnut, crackers, caramel, vanilla, and creme brulee. The taste is light bodied with caramel and loads of vanilla like a creme brulee. The alcohol content is 5.0% ABV. I wasn't crazy about the base if the beer because it was so light and fell flat, but it did have great flavors. I found that drinking this beer with a sugar cookie helped the mouth feel greatly, so if you have this beer, I recommend keeping a pile of cookies next to you.
