Lost Abbey Carnevale
I ordered a glass of Lost Abbey Carnevale while at TJ’s in Paoli. The beer pours a golden color with a frothy white head. The aroma is funky and has hay, lemon, pepper, and light caramel in it. The taste is light butterscotch and caramel on the front end before it transforms into a light funk. Lemon and hay come out before a dry peppery finish takes over the mouth. The alcohol content is 6.5% ABV. This was a nice saison, but I did feel that the brett was more influential in the aroma rather than the taste. I would drink it again, but there are other saisons and other brett-induced beers that I would prefer.
