Beach Brewing Company Hoptopus
I received a bottle of Beach Brewing Company Hoptopus in a beer trade with the Beer Club 4 Men. The beer pours an amber color with filmy white head. The aroma consists of tangerine, grapefruit, orange, and pepper. The taste is very bitter and dry with grapefruit, tangerine, and orange all providing a citrus flavor. The finish has pepper and hints of caramel that are not subtle. Pine and spruce compile the after taste and orange hangs around well after the beer is gone. The alcohol content is 8.8% ABV. This was my first offering from Beach Brewing Company, and I was quite impressed, especially in the ultra-competitive Double IPA category. All the right flavors were there, and it had the perfect bitterness to it as well.
