Brasserie Lacu Biere d'Abbaye Lacu
While out at McGrath's in Harrisburg, I ordered a bottle of Brasserie Lacu Biere d'Abbaye Lacu. The beer pours a golden color with a lofty and frothy white head. The aroma consists of banana, pear, grass, and pepper. The taste is smooth and sweet with banana at first before some dry grassy hops with pepper accents surface. As the beer warms, pear and apple flavors shine through. There is a bit of a biscuity mouth feel with a sweet candisugar after taste. The alcohol content is 6.3% ABV. The Biere d'Abbaye Lacu was a smooth and light bodied beer with plenty of flavor. It had nice fruit accents with dry earthy flavors, but I'm not sure it was worth the $22 cost for the bottle. I really enjoyed it, but thought the price was a little steep.
