Brouwerij Oud Beersel Framboise
I picked up a bottle of Brouwerij Oud Beersel Framboise from Al’s of Hampden to share amongst some friends. The beer pours a red tinted amber color with a thin filmy white head. The aroma consists of raspberry, cherry, oak, vinegar, and yeast. The taste is sweet at first with a slight sour kick before a raspberry and cherry sweetness comes in to play. The a not-over-the-top vinegar flavors comes out in the finish. The alcohol content is 5.0% ABV. I thought this Framboise was excellent and smooth. It is slightly sour so it could be a good introductory beer to someone who has not had sours previously. Although it is mostly dry, it does have some great fruity notes that were enjoyed by all.
