Harpoon IPA
Prior to going in to Extreme Beer Fest in Boston, I grabbed a bite to eat at JJ Foley’s and ordered a Harpoon IPA to go with it. The beer pours a golden color with a frothy white head. The aroma consists of lemon, tangerine, grapefruit, and spruce. The taste is bitter and has a lot of lemon and tangerine. The spruce hops dry the mouth on the finish and the after taste brings back the wonderful flavor of the grapefruit again. The alcohol content is 5.9% ABV. This IPA, despite being from the Northeast, had a very west coast inspiration and is really an enjoyable IPA. It may be a little on the bitter side for non-hopheads, but is most appreciated by those that love hops.
