I stopped in to Al’s of Hampden when I received word that Al tapped the Stillwater Artisanal Ales-Mikkeller collaboration Two Gypsies Our Side. The beer pours an orange-amber color with a bubbly off-white head. The aroma consists of lemongrass, wheat, and a pleasant dose of earthy hops. The taste is lemony with pepper hops, an earthy base, grass. There is a sharp hop bite on the finish filled with pepper and spices with a floral after taste. The alcohol content is 7.5% ABV. I really enjoyed this saison, and it had a much larger hop profile than most saisons. Furthermore, the earthiness really added a unique touch to such a delicate beer style.
