Of all the beers that were on the draft board at TJ's in Paoli 7th Anniversary Party, the Hitachino Nest XH, Sake Aged Strong Ale, caught my eye. The beer pours a red amber color with a foamy off-white color head. The aroma is sweet citrusy with orange and tangerine being the dominant aromas. The taste is sweet and smooth with a carbonation bite, sweet orange and tangerine flavors, sweet malts, and caramel. The sake comes out to play on the finish. The alcohol content is 7.0% ABV. Overall, the XH aged in sake barrels was delicious and provided a wonderful fruity taste complimented by the perfect amount of carbonation.
