Samuel Adams Griffin's Bow

The final beer that I was able to try at the Samuel Adams beer tasting during Great American Beer Fest was Griffin's Bow, an oaked blonde barleywine. The beer pours a golden color with a bubbly off-white colored head. The aroma consists simply of caramel, oak, and raisin. The taste is sweet and malty with honey, toffee, and vanilla. On the finish, oak and hints of grapefruit and orange come out to play. The alcohol content is not available online, but I would estimate it to be about 9.5% ABV. This was a great beer and was rather complex with its toasted oak flavors and citrus accents.
